Here’s a fun lockdown project. Have fun making these cool rock crystal sticks, watch them grow overtime…

You will need
• 1 cup of water
• 3 cups of white granulated sugar
• food colouring
• Saucepan
• Wooden spoon
• Bamboo skewers
• Tumblers/glasses
• Clothes pegs
Prepare your sticks – Dip sticks in water, roll them in sugar (use a plate of sugar), set them aside to dry.
Put water in saucepan, once simmering add 1 cup of sugar stir to dissolve, repeat until all sugar is used.
Let it boil, keep stirring.
Add food colour of our choice.
Allow to cool slightly, then pour into tumblers.
Using the clothes peg (like in photo) place sugar stick to tumbler, peg is gripping the stick and resting on top of the tumbler.
Now, wait for about 7 days for the crystals to form!
(Sugar solution will be extremely hot, prepare with care).
