Here’s a quick and easy recipe for Anzac biscuits, get your aprons on ready for some family baking!
- 1 Cup plain flour
- 1 Cup rolled oats
- 1 Cup of brown sugar
- 1/2 Cup desiccated coconut
- 125g of butter
- 2 Tablespoons golden syrup.
- 1 Tablespoon water.
- 1/2 teaspoon bicarbonate soda
- Preheat oven to a low-med temperature (approx 170 degrees).
- In a medium bowl, sift flour.
- Add sugar, rolled oats and coconut.
- On a low heat, melt the butter in a saucepan.
- Once melted add the golden syrup and water.
- Remove from heat add the bicarb soda and stir.
- Quickly add the liquid to the dry ingredients and mix thoroughly.
- Using approx 1.5 tablespoons of the mixture, make balls and lightly press onto a greased tray.
- Bake for 15 minutes.
- Allow to cool for 5 minutes, the biscuits will harden when cool.
